Anita Henrietta Lyngard, 92

Anita Henrietta Lyngard, 92, of Eugene, Ore., died peacefully of age-related causes on July 25, 2013, in Eugene. A memorial service was July 31 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Eugene.

Anita Henrietta Nielsen was born August 8, 1920, in Neola, Iowa, to Niels and Henrietta Nielsen.

She married Victor Lyngard on Aug. 10, 1943, in Neola.

The couple moved with their three children to Eugene in 1956.

She was dedicated to her family, friends, God and church. She enjoyed entertaining friends, church activities and playing card games. She was an avid Oregon football and basketball fan.

She was a member of the Danish Brotherhood Lodge 348 and loved her Danish heritage.

She is survived by three children, Gene Lyngard of Eugene, Joyce Jorgensen (Chuck) of Blair and Jan Lusk (Gary) of Hillsboro, Ore.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Kent Nielsen (Una Mae) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; brother, Raymond Nielsen; sister, Martha Peterson; and one niece, Mary Ann Miller.
