SERVICES FOR THERLO RECKMEYER WILL BE THURSDAY AFTERNOON

Services for Therlo Reckmeyer have been set for Thursday, July 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the Arlington Community Church in Arlington. Mr. Reckmeyer, a long time Arlington hardware dealer and Funeral Home Director, passed away Monday morning, July 23rd, at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.

Arlington Community Club President, Carl Dein, announced that most Arlington businesses would be closed between the hours of 1:30 and 3:30 in observance of Mr. Reckmeyer’s funeral. The services will start at 2:00 p.m. at the Arlington Community Church.

Mr. Reckmeyer had entered the Dodge County Community Hospital, at Fremont, for a gall bladder operation. Complications set in with the kidney and liver which required that he be transferred to the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha where a kidney machine was put into operation.

Therlo was born on February 26, 1912 at Arlington and was 61 at the time of his death. He was married to Florence L. Smiley on September 19, 1935 at Omaha. Mrs. Reckmeyer survives along with two sons, one daughter and five grandchildren.

The sons are Wm. G. Reckmeyer, of Skineateles, New York; Richard T. Reckmeyer of Omaha. The daughter is Mrs. Steve (Nancy) Carsten of Avoca, Nebraska. There is also one surviving aunt, Mrs. A.T. Hutchinson of Norfolk, Nebraska.

Rev. Bryce Hecht will officiate at the funeral with the Moser Funeral Home in Fremont in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at the Arlington Cemetery.

He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1934 and graduated from the Embalming College of Saint Louis in 1936.

Mr. Reckmeyer has been very active in community affairs and lodge work. He was a Past Master and present Treasurer of the Hiram Lodge 51, A.F. and A.M.; member of the Scottish Rite Temple in Omaha and the Tangier Shrine of Omaha; and a past Worthy Patron of the SREPTA 48 O.E.S. Chapter of Arlington Church and Treasurer of the Arlington Community Club. He was a member of the Nebraska Funeral Director’s Association and the National Funeral Director’s Association.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the Arlington Community Church.
