Mrs. William Reckmeyer, for the past half century a resident of Washington county, passed away at her home in Arlington last Friday morning at the age of eighty-one. She was one of the oldest pioneer residents of the vicinity. The deceased was born in Germany on January 25, 1842. When still very young she came to this country with her parents and settled in the Sociality of Quincy, Illinois. She resided there for many years and was married in Quincy in 1868 to William Reckmeyer. A few years later they moved west to make their home. They settled in Arlington, where a short time later the husband entered the hardware business in which he is still interested with the two sons. Mrs. Reckmeyer was well known and loved throughout the neighborhood. She was active in the affairs of the town and was for a long time a member of the Methodist church of Arlington, in which she was prominent. She is survived by her husband, two sons, William A. and Henry L. and two daughters, Lottie and Amelia, of Arlington.

Funeral services were held at the home in Arlington Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment in Arlington o’clock. Inter in Arlington cemetery cemetery. (typed as printed in the newspaper)

#2-MRS. WM. RECKMEYER, WASHINGTON CO. PIONEER CALLED

Mrs. Wm. Reckmeyer, for the past half century a resident of Arlington, passed away at her home Friday morning at the age of 81.

Mrs. Reckmeyer was born in Germany in 1842. She came with her parents to Quincy, Ill. when she was just a child. She was married to Wm. Reckmeyer in Quincy.

They settled in Arlington and have built a good business in their hardware store. Mr. Reckmeyer is still interested in this with his sons.

Mrs. Reckmeyer was an active member of the German Methodist church in which she was prominent.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, William and Henry and two daughters, Amelia of Arlington and Lottie of Omaha.

Funeral services were held at the home in Arlington Monday at 2 o’clock. Interment being made in the Arlington cemetery.
