Ella E. (Christiansen) Paulsen, 94

Ella E. Paulsen, 94, of Blair, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair. Private graveside services were held at the Blair Cemetery.

Ella E. Paulsen was born June 12, 1909, on a farm southwest of Vilas, in Miner County, S.D. She was the youngest of 14 children born to Andrew and Nikoline (Hansen) Christiansen. In 1918, the family moved to Blair. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a member of First Lutheran Church of Blair.

On Aug. 10, 1929, she married James A. Paulsen in Sioux City, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1982.

Mrs. Paulsen had lived at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home since October 1995, after breaking a hip.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James C. and Jean Paulsen of Blair and Donald E. and Patricia Paulsen of Omaha; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Clifford W. Todd, also of Omaha; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her 13 brothers and sisters.

Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
