Elmer C. Paulsen, 82

Elmer C. Paulsen, 82, of Omaha, died April 12, 2001, at Life Care Center in Omaha.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 16, at Roeder Mortuary West Chapel in Omaha. The Rev, Carlos D. Schneider officiated. Interment was at the German Cemetery, north of Bennington.

Elmer C. Paulsen was born July 11, 1918, on a farm north of Washington to Gustav and Mary (Rosacker) Paulsen.

He grew up in rural Bennington and graduated from Bennington High School. On April 27, 1941, he married Edna Schmidt in Omaha.

He was employed by Sorensen’s Dairy for 24 years. He worked for Graystone, Goodrich Country Charm, a subsidiary of Roberts Dairy and Safeway Dairy after Sorensen’s Dairy was sold in 1966. After his retirement from the dairy business, he drove a school bus for the Omaha Public Schools.

He was a life-long member of Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha and a member of the Blair Eagles No.3215.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Joyce Paulsen of Bella Vista, Ark., daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Larry Fischer of Rulo, and Jane and Larry Rogers of Arlington, son-in-law, William Batson of Omaha, a sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Floyd Schmidt of Fort Calhoun, eight grandchildren, five great-grand-children, and special friend and niece, Margaret VanDeusen of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, and a daughter, Carole Batson.
