Services To Be Wednesday for James Paulsen

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, at First Lutheran Church for James Paulsen, 74, who died August 22, 1982, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

The Rev. Kurt Sortland will conduct the services. Burial will be in Blair Cemetery.

James Paulsen was born October 7, 1907, in Fort Calhoun to Lars and Maren Hansen Paulsen. He attended Fort Calhoun and McCarthy Schools.

He married Ella Christiansen on August 10, 1929, in Sioux City.

He farmed from the late 1920’s until he began driving truck for Denver-Chicago. He was in the trenching business for 27 years, until his retirement.

He was a past member of the Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Ella; two sons, James Paulsen of Blair, and Don Paulsen of Omaha; and one daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Mary Ann) Todd of Omaha. Eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ann Porter, Grants Pass, Oregon; and two brothers-in-law, John Brogan, Las Vegas, Nevada; and Oakie Scott of Los Angeles, also survive him.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Jensen, John Jensen, Stanley Hansen, Bob Sheets, Clarence Sheets and Raymond Rasmussen.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
