GERALDINE M. REED, 70

Blair native Geraldine M. Reed, 70, of Hooper, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment will be in Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation began Thursday but will continue Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Geraldine M. “Geri” Reed was born May 4, 1939, in Blair to William Leo and Ann Sparks.

She was raised in Sioux City where she graduated from high school.

On June 15, 1957, she married Robert Dean Reed in Sioux City. In 1968, the couple moved to Fremont, and lived in the Fremont and Ames area until moving to Hooper in 1993.

Mrs. Reed was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Fremont.

She is survived by her mother, Ann Sparks of Blair; son, Randy Reed of Ames; four daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda Bates of Hooper, Kathy Larson of Fremont, Deb and Leo Maddalena of Hooper, and Brenda and Christ Horner of Arlington; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Bonnie Sparks of Dow City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in December of 1999; her father, William Sparks; and a granddaughter, Melissa May Bates.

Memorials are suggested to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
