C. LEONE REED, 86

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 20 at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa for C. Leone DeLashmutt Reed, 86 of Onawa who died July 17, 1995 at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa. Rev. Randy Coffin will officiate. Burial will be in the Onawa Cemetery.

C. Leone DeLashmutt Reed was born November 23, 1908 near Onawa to W.C. and Kitty Faye (Polly) DeLashmutt. She was baptized in the Whiting Christian Church in 1917 and was affiliated with the First Christian Church at Onawa.

She attended school at Whiting and graduated from High School and received normal training. She lived and worked in Kansas City, Missouri for three years.

She married Everett Reed on February 27, 1929 at Whiting. They farmed in the Whiting and Onawa area before moving into Onawa in 1977. He preceded her in death July 12, 1983 at Onawa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lucille Flynn; two brothers, Gerald, in infancy, and Harper DeLashmutt and a son-in –law, Jack Carlson.

She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine Alice and Vincent Willey of Onawa; Jeanne Delores and Carroll Johnson of Moorhead, Iowa; Eva Colleen and Dale Malmberg of Norfolk, Nebraska; Shirley Leone and Lee Jensen of Storm Lake, Iowa; and Donna Claire and Carleton Ball of Blair; 21 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren, including Chris Carlson of Blair; and a sister, Gwen Younger Sorenson of Onawa.

Arrangements are by the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.
