DIED. Mrs. Mary L. Reed, widow of the late Alex. Reed, passed peacefully away at her home in this city on the 10th inst., in the 54th year of her age. She was born in Genessee county, New York, and was married to Alex. Reed at Darien, Wis., Feb. 21, 1846. They came to Ft. Calhoun, Neb., the following year, and Blair in 1869. She was one of those good mothers that God has so abundantly blessed the world with, and her death, like that of her noble husband, has cast a cloud of sorrow over the city and entire county. She was surrounded by all her children during the last moments of her life. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. G.W. Wainwright and her remains were laid gently beside those of her husband at 3 p.m. Monday, whither they were followed by hundreds of sympathizing and sorrowing friends.
