#1-Published in the Pilot, November 6, 1918

The death of Chris Reeh, which occurred at 5:30 Monday afternoon of pneumonia following influenza, was a very sad one. He was a big, strong, healthy young man, but 29 years of age, just married the 22nd of last January and life seemed very bright and promising to him. He settled on the old Greeno farm, recently purchased by his father, Peter Reeh, after his marriage and they had spent one brief but happy summer together. The young wife was formerly Miss Adena Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Hansen, and she was so paralyzed with grief she was unable to go to the cemetery to see the remains laid in their final resting place. Chris was born in this county January 13th, 1889, and grew to manhood on the farm where his parents now live, some three miles west of town. Besides the wife and parents, he leaves three brothers, Rudolph, Alfred and George, and two sisters, Dora and Lena. The funeral was held at 2 o’clock this afternoon at the farm home and was conducted by Rev. W. H. Underwood, assisted by Rev. C. M Foreman. There was a large attendance and the floral offerings were profuse and beautiful, showing that he had not lived in vain for he had inspired love and affection in the hears of many. The bereaved families have the sincere sympathy of all.
