JOHN M. REEH, 85, DIED MONDAY; SERVICES TODAY

John M. Reeh, a lifetime farmer and active citizen of the community, died at the Blair Community Hospital, Monday, December 13th. He was 85 years old, having been born at Blair January 10th, 1891. He spent all of his active life as a farmer, although he had many community interests prior to his retirement. He was a member of the John S. Bowen Masonic Lodge at Kennard.

He was married to Edith Grace Compton who survives him. The couple, after retiring from the farm, had lived at 1946 Washington street.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and two daughters as well as three sisters. The sons are Gordon Reeh, of Kennard; Alan Reeh, of Fremont; and Roger Reeh, of Blair. The daughters are Mrs. John (Audrey) Jessen, of Blair; Mrs. Erwin (Barbara) Wulf, of Fremont. There are 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

The sisters are Mrs. Bessie Wilkins, of Blair; Mrs. Ann Hahn, of Lincoln; and Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Thone, of Herman.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church this afternoon (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Robert Bee will conduct the service and burial will be made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers will be John Jessen, Jr., Marvin Jessen, Terry Reeh, Brad Reeh, Shane Reeh and Tom Munk.
