Jennie Martis Dies At Age of 66 Years

Services for Jennie Mae Martis were held on Monday, January 9th, at the Campbell Funeral Home in Blair. Mrs. Martis died on Saturday, January 7th, at the Blair Hospital. She was 66 at the time of her death.

Mrs. Martis was born on May 29, 1911 at Omaha, Nebraska. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Spanggaard. She was married to Charles Martis, Sr., who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Martis is survived by two children: Mrs. Sam (Madelyn) Smith of Blair and Charles Martis, Jr. of Omaha. There are eight grandchildren.

There are two surviving sisters. They are Mrs. Emily Schonau of Omaha and Mrs. Helen Lassek of Lincoln.

Rev. John Petersen officiated with burial in the Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Hilary Lassek, Terry Kloster, Frank Kucera, Henry Lokke, John McIlree and Robert Thacker.
