LaVern M. Maslowsky, 90

Former Washington County resident LaVern M. Maslowsky, 90, of Omaha, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, in Omaha.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Omaha. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

LaVern Maslowsky was born May 12, 1918, in Randolph. She married B. J. Maslowsky on July 16, 1940, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Omaha.

Mrs. Maslowsky had resided in Omaha from 1940 to 1968; in rural Washington County from 1968 to 1996; and had resided in Omaha since 1996.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Judy Maslowsky of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Bernie and Janet Maslowsky of Tekamah, Nick Maslowsky of Fort Calhoun, Rick and Sarah Maslowsky of Kennard; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Gregg Finley of Omaha; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Flo, Mary Ann, Elvera and Doris; brothers, Vincent, David and Louis; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, B.J.; a son, Ron; sister, Rita; brothers, Sylvester and Arnold.

Memorials are suggested to the Notre Dame Sisters, 3501 State Street, Omaha, NE 68112.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
