BODY OF SIOUX CITY BOY RECOVERED MO. RIVER

At about 12:45 P.M., Thursday, the Washington County Sheriff’s office received a call from the OPPD plant south of Blair that a workman had observed a body floating in the river.

Deputy Sheriff Ben Reeh responded to that call, secured a boat, and recovered the body at about 2:00 P.M. It was later identified as that of seven-year-old Larry Reeves of Sioux City, Iowa, who had drowned there Tuesday. Larry and his 10-year-old brother were reported to have been wading in the Missouri River when Larry was swept away. The body was fully clothed when found.

The body was taken to the Sievers Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun.
