MAX REEVES

Max Reeves, son of Opal and Stella Reeves, was born in Blair, October 20, 1929. He passed away April 1, 1987 at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha at the age of fifty-seven.

Mr. Reeves was graduated from Blair High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later served in the Army Reserves.

He was married to the former Lorrain Gibson May 1, 1954. For several years he had his own construction company and later worked for Central States Paving Company, driving heavy equipment trucks.

His chief hobby was Appaloosa horses; for several years he bred and raised them.

Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include his father; one son, Brad Reeves of Elkhorn; one step-daughter, Judith Staba of Sutton; two granddaughters, Maggie Jean Reeves and Ida Mae Staba; and two sisters, Eunice Nykiel of Omaha and Janice Miller of Blair.

Funeral services were held April 4 at the Baptist-Presbyterian Church in Valley. The Reverend Peter Vanderveen officiated.

Pallbearers were Harry Gibson, Larry Martz, Daryl Miller, Mark Miller, Robert Nyke and Richard O’Konski.

Interment took place at Blair Cemetery. Valley’s Swanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
