MRS. EARL REID SERVICES FRIDAY

Ellen Jane Roberts was born February 9, 1892, at Tekamah, Nebraska, to Orlena and Thomas Roberts. She went to school in Tekamah, then attended Boyles College in Omaha for one year. On July 10, 1913, she was united in marriage to Earl C. Reid.

Mrs. Reid served as telephone operator in both Tekamah and Herman. She was active in church work as a member of the Methodist Church in Herman. She was a charter member of the Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 216.

Ellen Roberts Reid died December 13, 1966, at the age of 74, at the Senior Citizens’ Home in Tekamah, where she had spent the past two years.

Survivors beside her husband, Earl are one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Fenton and two grandchildren, Bryan Richard and Rita Sue Fenton of Neosha, Missouri; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Scott of San Diego, California and Mrs. Ruth Fingerlos of Omaha. Her parents; two brothers, Richard and Thomas Roberts and one sister, Irene Roberts Wakefield preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday at the Methodist Church in Herman. Hamel and Peck Mortuary was in charge of the services and burial was in the Herman Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chris Korshoj, Dr. W.I. Nelson, Fern West, Wilbur Lowe, J.B. Jensen and Melvern West.
