Services for G. Ruth Renard of Fremont and formerly of Arlington, who died December 20, 1994 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont were Friday, December 23 at the Arlington Community Church. Rev. Lee Milligan officiated. Burial was in the Elk City Cemetery.

G. Ruth Renard was born December 17, 1896 at Arlington. She lived her entire life in the Arlington area.

She was a graduate of Arlington High School and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, graduating from the School of Agriculture. She taught school near Norfolk before her marriage and worked at Marshall Nurseries in Arlington, which her father founded.

She was a life member of Arlington Community Church where she was very active. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Arlington; served 20 years as a volunteer at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Omaha; was Arlington’s Representative as Centennial Queen during the Washington County Centennial Years; and was inducted into the Arlington Education Foundation Hall of Fame. She married Edward J. Renard June 10, 1919 at Arlington. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1961.

She moved to Arbor Manor in Fremont in July, 1993.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, George and Dora Goltry Marshall; sons, Gene Renard and Mell Renard; a sister, Catherine Boker; and two brothers, Ralph and Vernon.

She is survived by three sons, Hugh Renard, Tucson, Arizona; Richard Renard, Wichita, Kansas; and Keith Renard of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Peggy (Mrs. R.K.) Jones of Napa, California; a brother, Maurice Marshall of Morrison, Colorado; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Hugh Renard II, Jerry Renard, Tom Renard, Jeff Renard, Robin Renard, Keith M. Jones, Lon Renard, Paul Renard, Rick Renard and Dr. Tom Renard.

Ruby House was organist. Richard Renard was soloist.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
