Everett M. (Swede) Reuhling, long time Blair resident, died late Saturday, January 1st following a fire in his trailer where he lived. Reuhling was 62 years of age.

Firemen were called to the Guy Trailer Court on east State Street shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday. The trailer in which Reuhling lived was engulfed in flames and he was asleep inside.

Firemen braved the flames and heat to rescue the man, but he was badly burned about the head and face. The Blair Rescue Squad rushed him to the Blair hospital where he died several hours later.

Firemen battled the blaze for about 30 minutes, extinguishing the flames but not until the trailer was gutted and damaged beyond repair.

He is survived by his mother, Nellie Reuhling of Blair and by a son and two daughters. The daughters are Mrs. Ed Danner (Vicki) of Blair and Mrs. Rose Marie Meadows who lives in Georgia. The son is George Reuhling, of Blair. There are five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Campbell Mortuary Tuesday morning at 10:30. The Rev. Leonard Lee will conduct the service and burial will be made in the Blair Cemetery.
