Mrs. Martin Paulsen To Be Buried Here Friday, March 15

Mrs. Martin Paulsen, a former Blair resident of many years died Tuesday, March 12th at Brush, Colorado. She had been living there at a Senior Citizen’s home operated by her son, the Rev, Raymond Paulsen.

Mrs. Paulsen, who was 88 years of age, was born at Balome Hastrup, Denmark, April 11, 1885. She came to the United States and to Blair when she was a girl 18 years of age, in 1903. She was married to Martin Paulsen May 11, 1904, and the Paulsen family grew up in the Blair area.

Her husband, Martin, died in December, 1953. Two sons, Christian and Fredrick, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by four sons and two daughters. The sons are S. Harold Paulsen, of Blair, the Rev. Raymond Paulsen of Brush, Colorado, the Rev. Clarence Paulsen of Ontario, California and the Rev. Clifford Paulsen of Albert Lea, Minnesota.

The daughters are Mrs. Alfred Panum (Eda) of Castro Valley, California; and Mrs. J. Dale Monteen (Dorothy) of Loveland, Colorado.

Following the death of her husband in 1953 Mrs. Paulsen continued to live in Blair but in 1969 she moved to Castro Valley, California to be with her daughter, Eda. In 1971 she took residence at the Senior Citizens home at Brush, Colorado.

Funeral services will be at the First Lutheran Church in Blair Friday at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Robert Albers will conduct the service and burial will be made in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.
