Paul Paulsen, 72, Falls Dead

Farmer North of Blair Dies Of Heart Attack; Lutheran Rites

A sudden heart attack proved fatal late Monday afternoon to Paul Paulsen, 72-year-old farmer. Mr. Paulsen fell dead in the yard of his home a mile north of Blair on the Bottom Road when stricken as he worked in repairing a fence.

The body was removed to the Bendorf Funeral Home. Brief rites will be held at 1:30 this afternoon at the family residence north of town, followed at 2 by services at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. H.C. Jorgensen will officiate, and burial will be in Blair Cemetery.

Born in Denmark

Although born in Denmark, Mar. 3, 1881, Mr. Paulsen had lived in the Blair area since coming here when three years old with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christoffer Paulsen. He and Helena Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lars P. Nelson, were married Febr. 23, 1908. Mrs. Paulsen died May 7, 1952.

Also preceding Mr. Paulsen in death were a son, Harvey Paulsen, who died in 1944, and a daughter, Fern, who died when 18 months old.

Surviving the Blair man are a son, Bernard Paulsen, and two daughters, Mrs. Harland Nelson (Myrtle) and Mrs. Richard Sorensen (LaVerne). All are Blairites.

Other survivor include 10 grandchildren; a brother, Martin Paulsen of Blair; and three sisters, Mrs. Peter Nielsen of Windom, Minn., Mrs. Lena Hansen of Blair and Mrs. Christiana Hatting of Minneapolis, Minn.
