Rev. Raymond Paulsen, 80

Services were Tuesday, June 7 for Rev. Raymond M. Paulsen, 80 of Brush, Colorado who died June 3, 1994 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Burial was in the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center Cemetery.

Raymond M. Paulsen was born July 25, 1913 in Blair to Martin and Lena Paulsen. He married Zonia Anderson July 3, 1942 in Omaha.

He was a veteran of World War II and had landed at Omaha Beach in Normandy in the 15th wave.

He had lived in Brush since 1964. Prior to retirement, he was the administrator of Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center from 1964-1979.

He was a past president of the Brush Area Chamber of Commerce, had served as mayor for the city of Brush from 1974-1982, was a past president of the Brush Rotary Club, serving in 1970 and served on the RE-2J School Board from 1968-1972.

He was a director of the First National Bank of Brush from 1972-1987 and was on the Colorado State Board of Health Advisory Committee.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Zonia of Brush; one son, Gerald of Denver; three daughters, Glenna (Mrs. Rick) Newport and Gwen (Mrs. Bob) Murrow, both of Brush and Gloria (Mrs. Jim) Weinman of Alliance, Nebraska; three brothers, Harold of Blair, Clarence of Grass Valley, California and Clifford of Edina, Minnesota; two sisters, Eda Panum of Eugene, Oregon and Dorothy Monteen of Edina and seven grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center, Box 344, Brush, 80723 or to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush.
