S. Harold Paulsen, 93, of Blair, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with prayer service at 7 p.m.

Soren Harold Paulsen was born June 18, 1911, in rural Blair on Bench Road to Marten and Boline (Larsen) Paulsen. He attended Summers and Rose Hill Schools.

On May 23, 1940, he married Dora E. Nelson in Blair. They lived on a farm on Highway 75, north of Blair, until Mr. Paulsen moved to Good Shepherd Assisted Living in 2001.

He farmed most of his life in the Washington County area, except for two years, in which he drove a tank wagon for Bohs Oil in Blair. He was active in getting the Washington County Farm Bureau started, and served on the board many years. He also served on the Good Shepherd Home Board, was a member of First Lutheran Church in Blair, and served on the Burt County Co-op Board and Pleasant View School Board.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold C. and Georgeann of Blair, Clifford and Kathleen of Davidson, N.C., and Vaden and Kathie of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Vivian of Nissewa, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora; four brothers, Chris, Fred, Ray and Clarence Paulsen; two sisters, Eda (Mrs, Alfred) Panum, and Dorothy (Mrs. Dale) Monteen.

Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
