IN MEMORIAM

We bow in tears, A people mourn, A brave man is at rest. Our tearful voice in echoes rise And sweep from East to West.

It is God’s way. His will be done, Brave words from noble lips, While gentle wife with breaking heart, The cup of sorrow sips.

How sad is death, yet this we know,That God is over all,And with a kindly Father’s love Notes e’en the sparrows fall.

Our friend’s last message borne to us. "Goodbye to all, Goodbye,” Will echo down sweet memory’s hall, As time goes slipping by.

And this we feel while yet we mourn, And God is hard to see, Our father, husband and our friend Is “Nearer, God, to Thee.”

Today in sad and silent grief, Our tribute now we bring; To him who fills a Christian’s grave The race of life is won, And in our hearts we try to say God’s will, not our be done.
