Former Blair resident George K. Reuling, 61, of Kearney, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 25, at O’Brien-Straatmann Funeral Home in Kearney.

George K. Reuling was born Feb. 5, 1948, in Fremont to Everett and Kathleen (McBride) Reuling. He grew up in the Fremont and Blair area. He attended elementary school in Fremont and attended Blair High School. He served in the Navy from 1965 to 1969 during the Vietnam War.

On Oct. 20, 1972, he married Anna Maldonado in Fremont. They made their home in Fremont where he was employed by Fremont Transfer. He later moved to Blair where he worked for Blair Transfer. He moved to Kearney in 1995 where he was a self-employed building contractor.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, watching football and NASCAR racing on TV.

He is survived by his wife, Anna, of Kearney; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Janelle of Fullerton and George and Leslie of Kearney; daughters, April and Teresa of Kearney and Stacey of Salt Lake City, Utah; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Vicki Buchhoz of Fremont; a niece and a nephew.

His parents, grandparents and one daughter preceded him in death.
