FLOYD L. REYNOLDS, 70

Former Kennard resident Floyd L. Reynolds, 70, of Santee, died July 12, 2004, in Yankton, S.D.

Funeral services were July 16 at Oyate Oyanke Community Center in Santee. Interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

Floyd Levi Reynolds was born Nov. 13, 1933 in Santee to Harry and Ellen Reynolds. He grew up in the Santee area, eventually moving to Omaha, where he worked for Snowco Corporation for more than 35 years.

On Sept. 2, 1955, he married Myrtice “Betty” Herron in Omaha.

In 1968, the Reynolds family moved to Kennard, where they lived for 20 years. Mr. Reynolds was a member of the Kennard Fire & Rescue Department for 19 years. In 1989, they moved back to Santee, and opened Floyd and Betty’s Café for five years, after which Mr. Reynolds semi-retired and worked for Waldbaum Eggs in Bloomfield.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; four sons and their families, Floyd D. Reynolds of Santee; Gary L. Reynolds of Kennard; Robert S. and Lori Reynolds of Milliken, Colo.; and Harry L. and Dorothy Reynolds, also of Kennard; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Raymond Clifford.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Niobrara was in charge of arrangements.
