JOSEPH REYZLIK, 58, IS DEAD

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD MONDAY WITH BURIAL AT TEKAMAH CEMETERY

Funeral services for 58-year-old Joseph A. Reyzlik, Sr., who died at his home on College Road Friday evening were held Monday at the Campbell Mortuary, the Rev. Edward C. O’Donnell of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church officiating. Interment followed at Tekamah Cemetery.

Mr. Reyzlik, long an employee of the state highway department, had been ill about a year.

Mr. Reyzlik was born in Omaha June 18, 1896, son of Joseph and Anna Reyzlik. As a baby, he moved with his parents to a farm north of Herman, where he later attended Herman High School. He served in France with the U.S. Army in World War I.

He and Rose Sklenar were married at Council Bluffs, Ia., Febr. 22, 1925.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; two sons, Joe Reyzlik, an employee of the Lutheran Publishing House; and Frank Reyzlik of the Coast-to-Coast staff; and a daughter, Mrs. Frank Cooper (Madeline) of Blair. There are three grandchildren.

JOE REYZLIK DIED THURS.

Joseph A. Reyzlik, lifetime resident of Blair and Washington County, passed away at his home on College Road last Thursday, following a lingering illness. He was 58 years of age.

Joseph A. Reyzlik was born in Omaha, Nebraska, June 18, 1896, the son of Joseph and Anna Reyzlik. At the age of nine months he, with his parents, moved to a farm north of Herman, Nebraska where he grew to manhood and also attended Herman High School.

At the age of 21 he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served one year, seven months of that time being spent in France. After his discharge from the Army, he was engaged in farming with his father.

On February 22, 1935, he and Rose Sklenar were united in marriage in Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union were born three children, Madeline, Joseph, Jr., and Frank.

Most of his life he was engaged in farming west of Herman until moving to Blair in the spring of 1939, at which time he became employed by the State Highway Department until his illness in January of 1953.

Mr. Reyzlik is survived by his wife, Rose; two sons, Joseph, Jr., an employee of the Lutheran Publishing House and Frank of the Coast-to-Coast Store; and one daughter, Mrs. Frank Cooper (Madeline), all of Blair; and three grandchildren, Clark Cooper, and Jimmy Joe and Ronnie Lee Reyzlik; also two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 P.M. at the Campbell Mortuary with Father Edward O’Donnell officiating. Burial was made in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Pall Bearers were Julius, Pete, Ted and Emil Weber, John Barty and John Erickson.
