Ruby I. Masters, 78

Ruby I. Masters, 78, of Blair, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, April 10, 2009, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

Ruby Irene Masters was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Ashland to Paul and Bessie (Miller) Masters.

She moved to Kennard with her parents and attended school in Kennard, graduating from Kennard High School. She attended Midland College and then transferred to Dana College where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. She taught rural schools in Dodge and Washington counties and, for the last 10 years before her retirement, at Fort Calhoun. Her teaching career spanned more than 40 years.

She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Betty and Stan Carnes of Blair, and Mary Vogel of Omaha; brother Robert Masters of Blair; sister-in-law, Joan Masters, Blair; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Tom and Bill.

Services 10 am Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Burial Kennard Cemetery. Visitation begins 12 pm Thursday with family receiving friends from 6-8 pm.
