Joseph Loren Matheson, 85

Graveside services were Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the Herman Cemetery for Joseph Loren Matheson, 85 of Corona Del Mar, Calif. who died in Costa Mesa, Calif. Dec. 14, 1996.

Joseph Matheson was an orphan, raised by Mrs. Blye in Missouri. At the age of 11, he moved to Idaho where he lived with a young couple.

He was active on the Golden Gloves Circuit and trained with Fern West in Herman.

He began his career as a baker with an apprenticeship for the German baker, Mr. Winks. Eventually, Matheson purchased his own bakery in Anaheim, Calif. He also purchased a bakery in Ponoma in 1948.

After retiring, he worked for Ponoma First Federal.

He married Marjorie Anderson Dec. 6, 1937.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Jay Osborn, Huntington Beach, Calif. and Susan and Bill Stoner, Upland, Calif.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
