Services Held November 12 For Emma Matz

Funeral services were held Friday, November 12th at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard for Mrs. Emma G. Matz who died Wednesday, November 10th at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Reverend Josephson officiated at the services. Interment was at the Kennard Cemetery.

Mrs. Matz, who was born in Denmark, March 7 1883, was 93 at her death. She came to the United States and to Kennard with her parents at the age of four.

As a young woman she married Marz Matz, who died in 1955.

Mrs. Matx is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Henry (Mildred) Bevelheimer, Westland, Michigan; Mrs. Elmer (Bernett) Monson, Blair; Mrs. Vernon (Vivian) Rock Valley, Nebraska; and Mrs. Delmar (Ruth) McVey, Omaha, Nebraska; and three sons, Floyd Matz, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Raymond Matz, and Gerald Matz, both of Omaha, Nebraska. One daughter, Ethel Finegan preceded her in death three years ago.

Other survivors include twenty grandchildren, fifty-eight great- grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Robert (Esther) Rasmussen, Blair, Nebraska; and three brothers, Ivan Jensen, Albany, Oregon; Fred W. Jensen, Blair; and Owen Nelson, North Platte, Nebraska, also survive her.

The pallbearers were Richard Dworak, Delmar Rolfs, Gordon Soderberg, Monte Matz, Quentin Rock and Douglas McVey, Mrs. Matz’s grandsons.
