Funeral services are 10:30 p.m. Thursday, September 27, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn for Edith P. Sass, 86 of Blair and formerly of Elkhorn, who died Sept. 24, 1990 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Rev. Kenneth Jensen is officiating. Burial is in Prospect Hill in Elkhorn.

Edith P. Pearce Sass was born August 10, 1904 in Des Moines. She attended Midland Lutheran College and was an elementary school teacher in rural schools in the Valley and Elkhorn areas.

She married Theodore Sass. He preceded her in death March 11, 1980.

She is survived by two sons, Theodore of Elkhorn and Stanley of Fremont; two daughters, Cecelia Risinger of Denver and Edith O’Malley of Las Vegas; two sisters, Celia Appleby of Lyons and Peggy Hulgren of Nickerson; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
