Doris D. Schmit, 72, of Beaver Crossing, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, Aug. 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Beaver Crossing. Graveside services were held at Calvary Cemetery in Beaver Crossing.

Doris D. Schmit was born Feb. 19, 1936.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Rodger J. Schmit and Deb McCartney of Grand Island, Robert L. Schmit of Beaver Crossing, Donna and Jim Waegli of Kennard, Mary and Dennis Coufal of Brainard, Shirley and Denver Beetem of St. Paul, and Donald and Becky Schmit of Burr; 11 grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Don Goebel of Grass Valley, Calif.; special friend, Marion Zook of Beaver Crossing; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul.
