Funeral services for Virgil (Bill) Pearce, 78, of Omaha will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 1987, at Campbell Funeral Home with Father Dan Galas officiating.

Burial will follow in the Herman Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bob Parker, Pat O’Hara, Walt Mitchell, Tom Pearce, Rick Anderson and Dick Sheets.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Anderson, Gary Anderson, Jack Anderson, Sam Pearce and Tim Pearce.

Pearce died December 20, 1987, at Immanuel Hospital, Omaha.

He was born September 27, 1909, in Mt. Etna, Iowa, to Roy and Ethel (Flanders) Pearce.

On July 7, 1936, he married Nellie Sheets.

Virgil worked for the John Deere Company for many years as a receiving clerk, and then worked for the Douglas County Treasurer.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 38 of Omaha for 40 years.

Survivors include wife Nellie of Omaha; daughter Mrs. Nola Baker of Omaha, and one grandson, Greg Kuchera of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by one brother,Merill “Jake” Pearce and one sister, Lillian Boenke.

Services will be conducted by Campbell Funeral Home of Blair.
