Eva Pearson

Eva L. Pearson, 90, 0f Wahoo, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, in Lincoln.

She was born April 7, 1919, in Blair to Grover and Hulda (Schaffer) Wilkins. She graduated from Kennard High School and Dana College in Blair. She then taught for 13 years at Arlington, Elkhorn, DeSoto and Masters country school. She married Norman A. Pearson on Aug. 17, 1952, in Arlington. The couple resided and farmed southwest of Wahoo. Among her many responsibilities on the farm, she raised chickens and sold the eggs.

She was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Swedeburg where she was active in the Ladies Aid and the church board, and taught Sunday school. Her com-munity involvements included the Home Extension Club and Christian Women’s Club.

Survivors include: a daughter, Penny (and husband, Allen) Henriksen of Norfolk; a son, Kent (and wife, Laurie) Pearson of Wahoo; two brothers, Robert Wilkins of Fremont and Dr. Gene Wilkins of Ennis, Mont.; sisters-in-law, Muriel Wilkins of Lincoln and Toby Wilkins of Ennis; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters-in-law.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wahoo with the Rev. Carl Kramer officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the family present from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo.

Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
