James W. Pearson, 69

James W. Pearson, 69, or Denver, Colo., died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009.

A memorial service is planned for January, with interment of his cremains at the Calvary Cemetery in Newcastle.

James W. Pearson was born Aug. 3, 1940, in Ponca to Glen A. and Frances (Marron) Pearson.

He graduated from Newcastle High School, then enlisted in the United States Navy as a SeaBee, serving for four years.

He earned his master electrician license and, with three of his brothers, Mike, John and George, owned and operated Pearson Electric in Blair for 10 years until 1983. He ten moved to the Denver area, where he worked as an industrial electrician supervisor.

He is survived by a son, Jack, of Denver; four grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Jerry Crawford of Ponca, Jean and Randy Bottorff of Onawa, Iowa, and Janice Nelson of Omaha; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom of Minot, N.D., John and Verna of Newcastle, George and Pam of Kennard, Mike and Susan of Blair, Don and Karen of Pender, and Bill and Kathy of South Sioux City; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Anne.
