Well Known Area Farmer Died Of Heart Attack

Gene Mathiesen, a life-long resident of the rural area northwest of Blair, died suddenly at his home last Wednesday. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Eugene Leslie Mathiesen was born March 9, 1916, at Blair and was 57 years of age at the time of his death. He spent his entire life in the area west of the Pleasant View school which is midway between Blair and Herman. He was a farmer all of his life.

On August 9, 1953, he was married to Norma Elaine Pullen.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church at Blair and a member of the Herman Rural Fireboard and the Glendale School Board.

Survivors are his wife, Elaine, a daughter, Norma of Omaha and two sons, Keith and Dale living at home. Also a brother Lloyd of Blair.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the First Lutheran Church in Blair, the Rev. Robert Albers conducted the service.

Burial was made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home of Blair.

Pallbearers were relatives of the deceased: Howard Cook, Clark Davis, Clifford Moller, Paul Schneider, Ray Wilson and Vernon Christofferson.

Eugene Leslie Mathiesen was born March 9, 1916, at Blair and was 57 years of age at the time of his death. He spent his entire life in the area west of the Pleasant View school which is midway between Blair and Herman. He was a farmer all of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine W. and by a daughter and two sons, all of whom are living at home. The daughter is Norma, the sons, Keith and Dale. A brother Lloyd, lives at Blair.
