Helen J. “H.J.” Tobin, 74, of Tekamah died, Saturday Sept. 21, 2013, in Omaha.

A memorial service will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Helen J. “H.J.” Chase was born Oct. 1, 1938, to Ralph and Gwen (Stephens) Chase.

She attended school in Washington and Burt counties.

After graduation, she worked as a cook at her family-owned Young’s Café in Blair. She was then employed at the Douglas County Clerks Office and then at the Douglas County Treasurers Office from where she retired.

In October of 1998, she married Bob Tobin in Tekamah.

She loved golfing, fishing, gardening, crafting and especially her beloved Chicago Bears.

She enjoyed socializing with all of her friends in her favorite places in Burt and Washington counties. Her amazing sense of humor will always be remembered by her family and friends.

She is survived by husband Bob Tobin of Tekamah; children: Cindy and Ron Spiker of Tekamah, Kenny Uehling of Omaha, Leah and Randy Kirchner of Omaha; stepchildren: Tim and Linda Tobin of Tekamah, Pat and Susie Tobin of Tekamah, Robert and Cheryl Tobin of Lincoln and Mark and Jennifer Tobin of Blair; grandchildren: Daniel Erickson and Shannon Uehling; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Mary Alice Connealy, Robert and Sharon Chase, Grand Chase, Annelle Bruno and Chuck and Gail Chase.

She was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Cathy Tobin.

Memorials may be directed to the organization of the donor’s choice in her name.
