Services For Charlotte Matzen To Be Friday

Services for Charlotte Margaret Matzen have been set for 2 p.m. at the Emmaus Lutheran Church at Kennard on Friday, January 11th. Mrs. Matzen passed away on Monday, January 7th at her home on Route 2 Blair.

Mrs. Matzen was born on January 4, 1900 and was 74 at the time of her death. She was married to Andrew Matzen and lived on the farm north of Blair for many years. There are also seven surviving children. They are: Norman Matzen, Blair; Philip Matzen, Blair; Mrs. Don (Norma Jean) Strand, of Colorado; Mrs. Elvin (Rue) Christensen, of Omaha; Mrs. Ralph (Gwenevere) Krecklow, of Glenwood, Iowa; Mrs. Don (Margaret) Cameron, Lashara, Nebraska; and Mrs. Melvin (Marilyn) Muller, of Omaha.

Brothers and sisters include the following: Mrs. Ralph (Freda) Myers, of Lincoln; Mrs. John (Martha) Fine, of California; Mrs. Joe (Elsie) Polzin, of Omaha; Wm. Koenig, of Iowa; stepmother, Mrs. Paul Koenig, of Omaha; half brothers and sisters, Paul Koenig of Omaha; Robert Koenig of Cleveland; and Mrs. Alma Gable of Chicago.

Rev. Joseph Myers will officiate with Campbell Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the German Cemetery.

Active Casket Bearers will be: James Christensen, Marlin Matzen, Ivan Andersen, Frank Jerman, Wm. Koenig, Jr., and Frank Petsea.

Honorary Casket bearers are Alvin Wulf, Russell Suverkrubbe, Roscoe Andersen, Lester Rurup, Lee MacDonald and David Rasmussen.
