Services were Wednesday, September 20 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington for Ellis M. Rhoades, who died September 17, 1995, at Immanuel Medical Center. Rev. Lawrence Sundell officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Omaha.
Ellis M. Rhoades was born July 28, 1919 in Shenandoah, Iowa.
He was mechanic for Mack Truck Co. in the Bennington area for many years before retiring.
He had served with the United States Army.
He married Eleanor Lebbert July 4, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; two daughters, Sheryl (Mrs. Dale) Moll, Hooper and Shirley (Mrs. Larry) Blevins, Omaha; a brother, Kenneth, Elkhorn; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Bennington Fire Department or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Hadan-Golden-Reichmuth Mortuary in Bennington was in charge of arrangements.
