LUCIEN PECK

Lucian Sheldon Peck was born near Cuming City, five miles north of Blair, Nebraska, on March 13, 1900, and departed this life at an Omaha hospital Feb. 26. 1931.

He had been a patient sufferer since early fall, having been in the hospital at two different times of several weeks’ duration.

He attended the Pleasant View school, and most of his life was spent in the vicinity of his birth where a host of friends testify to his jovial, kindly disposition.

He was united in marriage to Miss Elnora Birman on February 15, 1928, who is left to mourn his loss, with his father, Walter Peck and his sister, Mrs. Linton Puffer, both of Tekamah and numerous other relatives and friends.

He united with the Methodist church when eleven years of age with his father, mother and sister, and we testify to his faith by this; he had not one enemy, all who knew him were friends. He always had a good word for everybody, and all knew that he was sincere in his social relations.

At the time of his death he was 30 years, 11 months and 13 days of age.

Lucian was a member of the Woodman of the World Lodge, Seymour Camp No. 16 at Omaha, Nebraska where he had joined after the Blair Encampment broke up.

The funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Blair after prayer at the home of his grandfather, Sheldon Peck. Rev. Booher of Kennard officiating, assisted by Elder Johnson of the Seventh Day Adventist church at Omaha, who offered prayer at the church.

The pallbearers: Lloyd Blomberg, Clark Lippincott, Carl Christensen, Roland Warrick, Tranny and Carl Bohs, were all childhood friends who grew to manhood with Lucien in the neighborhood where most of his life was spent.

The many floral offerings, expressions of sympathy and the large attendance at the last rites, proclaim the esteem in which he was held by his friends and neighbors.

He is at rest by the side of his mother, Mrs. Walter Peck, who preceded him in death but one year before, Feb. 1. 1930.

Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Those in attendance from out of town: Mr. and Mrs. Ben Peck and family of Tekamah, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gilliland and Rex Hein of Herman, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Erwin, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Decker and children, Mr. and Mr. Millard Galleon, all of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Donnelson of Marshalltown, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tegt of Fremont, and Mrs. Ellen Foss of Burkett, Neb.
