Mrs. Walter Peck

Funeral services for Mrs. Walter Peck were held Monday afternoon Feb. 3 from the M. E. church with Rev. Bader officiating.

Mrs. Peck was a former Blair woman but was making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Linton Puffer of Tekamah at the time of her death.

The following obituary was sent to The Enterprise office:

Lula Loretta Carter was born near Blair, Nebraska, January 25, 1874. She was married to Walter Peck September 13, 1899, to this union were born a daughter, Blanche, and a son, Lucian Sheldon.

In her youth, Mrs. Peck united with the Methodist church, and as long as she was physically able, she was active in the work of the church and Sunday school.

Twelve years ago she suffered a paralytic stroke, since then she has been an invalid. A second stroke occurred four years later. Her illness became more marked last October, and death brought release Saturday, February 1st, her age being 56 years and 7 days.

She was the last surviving member of the Alec Carter family. Her brothers, Walter and Orrin, passed away in 1928.

She is survived by her husband, her daughter, Mrs. Linton Puffer, of Tekamah, her son, Lucian Sheldon Peck of Blair, one grandson, Junior Puffer of Tekamah, besides other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Walter Peck as Lula Loretta Carter was born near Blair on January 25, 1874, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Linton Puffer, at Tekamah last Saturday. Mrs. Peck suffered a paralytic stroke twelve years ago since which she had been an invalid. Four years ago she suffered a second stroke. She was the last surviving member of the Alec Carter Family. Her brothers Walter and Orrin passed away in 1928. Surviving her are he bereaved husband; a daughter, Mrs. Linton Puffer of Tekamah; and a son, Lucian Sheldon Peck, of Blair. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Carl G. Bader, officiating after which interment was made in Blair cemetery.
