Clyde Pedersen, 79

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 7 at Roeder Mortuary for Clyde Pedersen, 79, who died February 4, 1990 at Immanuel Hospital of a heart attack.

Clyde Pedersen was born November 16, 1910 in Omaha, Nebraska and grew up in the Florence area. On November 17, 1935 he married Almede Ellen Evans of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska.

Clyde won three AAU and one World-Herald Golden Gloves Boxing titles as a middle-weight in regional competition between 1931 and 1934 and fought in several national tournaments. He was active in the Cannon Ball Bowling League at West Lanes for more than 25 years. He also belonged to the North End Classic and Senior League at Kelly’s North Bowl for many years.

He was owner and operator of Ace Building Movers and also did some farming.

He is survived by his wife, Almede; a son and daughter-in-law, Merlin and Donna Pedersen; daughter, Ellen McAllister; brother, Wallace Pedersen; sister, Hazel Leithoff; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
