Nancy J. Peck, 40; Organist, Music Teacher

Service for Nancy J. Peck of Omaha, an accomplished organist and music teacher, will be 10:30 a.m. today at Rejoice Lutheran Church, 2556 S. 138th St.

Ms. Peck, 40, died Wednesday at Methodist Hospital.

She had problems with asthma, but doctors are not yet sure what caused her death, said her husband, Kevin D. Thomas.

Ms. Peck played the organ, the piano and the flute. She played at recitals in Omaha, Lincoln and Seattle, and also played at weddings, funerals, musical productions and family gatherings. She was a music teacher at Montclair Elementary School in the Millard School District.

Ms. Peck graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in music. She was pursuing her master’s degree at UNL.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Jonathan Hanson, and a daughter, Jenna Hanson; a stepson, Brandon Thomas, and a stepdaughter, Allison Thomas, both of Blair; parents, John and Joyce Peck of Tekamah; and sisters, Linda Srb of Bothell, Wash., and Amy Peck and Julie Swanson, both of Omaha.
