Leora “Lee” Jackson, 87, of Louisville, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, in Omaha.

Services were Monday, Oct. 7, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Interment was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Leora "Lee" Thomas was born June 20, 1926, in Omaha to Clare and Marie (Kaer) Thomas.

She lived in Nashville until the age of 10 when her family moved to Fort Calhoun. She graduated from Fort Calhoun High School in 1942 and moved to Omaha to work until her marriage.

On Feb. 14, 1947, she married Don Jackson in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The couple moved to Casper, Wyo., in 1952 and back to Council Bluffs in 1957. They later moved to Ogallala where they owned a package liquor store until they moved outside of Blair in 1979.

Mr. Thomas died on Sept. 8, 1984.

In 1987, Mrs. Thomas moved to Omaha. She later moved to Louisville where she lived until her death.

The last two jobs that she had were for Lozier and Sitel Corp.

She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Troy Jackson of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Rick and Traci Jackson of Louisville; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and many beloved nieces and nephews and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Don Jackson; and sisters Ginny Lanouette and Lucille (Cille) Stricklett.
