Funeral services were held at the Gretna Resurrection Lutheran Church on January 2, 1980, for Minnie C. Schnack. She died December 29, 1979, at Gretna, at the age of 66 years, one month and 11 days. Rev. William Kolber officiated. Interment was at Mount Auburn Cemetery. Rev. William Kolber officiated. Interment was at Mount Auburn Cemetery.

Minnie C, Schnack was born November 18, 1913, at Bennington, Nebraska to John and Emma Petersen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church at Bennington and attended Bennington Public Schools, graduating from Bennington High School.

On January 20, 1934, she married Hugo Schnack of Gretna at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bennington. To that union, two children, a son, Wesley; and a daughter, Gaye, were born. They farmed near Gretna until 1959, when they moved to Gretna and Hugo became a contractor.

Mrs. Schnack was a member of the Gretna Resurrection Lutheran Church. She was last employed by the Gretna Public Schools.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Petersen; a brother, Alfred; and her husband, Hugo.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Emma Petersen of Bennington, one son, Wesley of Primghar; and one daughter, Gaye Van Winkle of Lincoln. Eight grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. James (Hazel) Convey of Omaha, Mrs. Clarence (Sophie) Sorensen of Blair, Mrs. Victor (Ruby) Nielsen of Omaha and Mrs. Harlan (Viola) Sibert of Valley also survive her.

Two musical selections, “How Great Thou Art” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, were sung by the congregation.

Casket bearers were Jim Long, Joe Verbeck, Jerry Woolhiser, Dwayne Bohling, Ronald Sawyer and Gilbert Schnack, Jr.
