Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair for Mrs. Evelyn Schmitz, who passed away on February 10th at the age of 71. Father Swartley officiated at the rites and at the Monday evening rosary. Campbell Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair.

Pallbearers were Eugene Arnold, Larry Warrick, Donald Warrick, Jeffrey Peterson, Randall Peterson and Charles Walker.

The deceased was born on November 24th, 1901, to Andrew and Hannah Feer. Her husband, Leo, preceded her in death.

She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Betty Arnold of Herman, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Larsen, Mrs. Weil (Dorothy) Schroeder and Anton Schmitz of California, Mrs. Peter (Joann) Peterson of Colorado, Mrs. Luke (Theresa) Walker of Iowa, and John Schmitz of Washington. Fourteen grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild also survive.
