HAROLD D. “MIKE” RILEY, 77

Services were Tuesday, November 5 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont for Harold D. “Mike” Riley, 77 of Fremont who died November 1, 1991 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Rev. David Loeshen of Trinity Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Harold D. Riley was born October 6, 1914 at O’Neill, Nebraska. He grew up at O’Neill and Fremont and attended Fremont High School. He had lived in Fremont for over 60 years.

He operated a sanitation truck for several years in Fremont and then operated Riley’s Grocery Store at 16th and Clarkson for ten years. He then worked as a hospital security guard at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County until becoming ill.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont and the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 200 at Fremont. He married Alice M. Giesselman November 23, 1941 at Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Myrtle Bucanan Riley; brothers, John, LeRoy, Paul and Rolland; and sisters, Goldie, Isabelle and Esther.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; and a sister, Fern Kortum of Farmington, Minnesota.

Pallbearers were Steve Schumacher, Lloyd Vogt, Anthoy (sp) Giesselman, Boyd Giesselman, Norman Stork and Soren Nielsen.

Rosalyn Vogt was organist. Kenneth Toebben was soloist.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
