SERVICES HELD FOR WIFE OF AREA PASTOR

Pauline E. Ritzen, 88, died Tuesday in Memorial Hospital of Dodge County Annex, where she had been a resident for a brief time.

Mrs. Ritzen, the former Pauline Pfenninger, was born on Feb. 11, 1892, in Arneckeville, Texas, and lived in that area until her marriage on May 7, 1916, to Martin A. Ritzen. She attended the Baltimore Deaconess Training School while her husband was a seminary student.

They served churches in Auburn, Verdon and Barada in southeast Nebraska and in Victoria, Texas.

Before serving Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle from 1941 to 1952, the Rev. Martin Ritzen was superintendent of Tabitha Home in Lincoln. He died in November 1953.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Ruth Ellen) Hansen, Toronto, Canada; and Mrs. Myron (Anita) Brand, Fremont; three sons, Rev. Ralph Ritzen, Kearney; Leander Ritzen, Omaha; and Norman Ritzen, Aurora, Colorado; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont. Funeral services were Friday at 11 a.m. in Salem Lutheran Church, Fontanelle. The Rev. Dr. Dennis Anderson, president, Nebraska Synod of the LCA and the Rev. Jackson Sherwood of Salem Lutheran Church, Fontanelle, were the officiating ministers.

Memorials may be given to the Midland Women; Tabitha Home, Lincoln; and Salem Church, Fontanelle.
