Bengt Pederson

Bengt Pederson died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Martha Erikson, of the Rose Hill neighborhood, at 9:30 Sunday morning of pneumonia, after an illness of about two weeks duration. The funeral was held at the house at 2 o’clock today, Rev. A.W. Lambrecht, of this city, officiating. Burial will take place in the Rose Hill cemetery by the side of his wife, who died in 1898, and an only son, who died in 1880 at the age of 15 years. He was born in Wermland, Sweden, Feb. 27th, 1835, and was therefore almost 82 years of age. He was married there in 1862 and came to America in 1868, settling first in Moline, Ill., later at Florence and in 1869 he settled on the homestead upon which he died, after a residence there of almost 48 years. Besides the one daughter he leaves six grandchildren and one brother in Sweden.
