Ronald D. Pederson, 53

Ronald D. Pederson, 53, of Kearney, died Oct. 27, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney. Interment was in the Rosehill Cemetery in Emerson.

Ronald D. Pederson was born Oct. 28, 1952, in Wakefield to Adolph M. and Leona I. (Johanson) Pederson. The family lived in South Sioux City. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1971, and attended Western Iowa Technical College in Sioux City, Iowa.

He moved to Kearney more than 30 years ago, and was employed as a material handler, aeration estimator/specialist at Chief Industries.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served in various offices and currently was serving as chairman of the congregation. He was a member of Pheasants Forever and was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, and loved his dogs. He was a participant in youth-mentor hunts.

He is remembered as a devoted employee and his co-workers at Chief Industries were a loving and caring family to him. He loved the Lord and had great faith.

He is survived by his sister, Charlene Fredericksen of Blair; three nieces and five nephews and their families; numerous great-nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Pederson; and a brother-in-law, Dave Fredericksen.

Memorials are suggested to the Zion Lutheran School in Kearney.
