Mrs. Marie Wrich Dies At Kennard

Widow of Claus Wrich, Native of Germany, Died Yesterday At Age 71

Mrs. Marie Wrich, 71, Washington countian for more than a century, died yesterday at her home southeast of Kennard after an illness of ten weeks. She was the widow of Claus Wrich, who died May ___ ____*

Born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, December 1, 1867, she came to the United States in 1887 with a brother, settling in Blair. She was married here to Mr. Wrich in February, 1889.

Surviving her are four sons, Karsten, John, Henry and George Wrich, all of Kennard, and three daughters, Mrs. John Kunneman, Mrs. Fred Kunneman and Mrs. Dick Kunneman, all of Kennard. There are 15 grandchildren.

Mrs. Wrich was a member of the Bennington Ladies Aid.

The body was taken to the Haden mortuary at Bennington. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Wrich home and at 2 p.m. from the Bennington Lutheran church, the Rev. H. Goede officiating. Pallbearers will be Ray, Walter, Albert and Claus Wrich, Howard and Henry Kruse.

Burial will be in the German cemetery at Bennington.

MRS. MARIE WRICH

Mrs. Marie Wrich of Kennard died Wednesday, December 21 at her farm home southeast of Kennard following an illness of nearly ten weeks’ duration. She was aged 71 years and 21 days at the time of her death.

Mrs. Wrich was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany December 1, 1867. She came from Germany with her brother, John in 1887 to Blair where she was married on February 14, 1889 to Claus Wrich. She was a member of the Ladies Aid of St. John’s Lutheran church of Bennington, Nebraska.

Mrs. Wrich was preceded in death by her husband, Claus, who passed away May 8, 1908. She is survived by four sons, Carsten, John, Henry and George and three daughters, Mrs. John Kunneman, Mrs. Fred Kunneman and Mrs. Dick Kunneman, all of Kennard. One daughter died in infancy. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, at one o’clock at home, and at two o’clock at the St. John’s Lutheran church in Bennington, Rev. H. Goede officiating. Interment will be made in the German cemetery at Bennington. Pallbearers are to be Ray, Walter, Albert and Claus Wrich and Howard and Henry Kruse.
